To notch the tile follow these steps. To make a notch on the end of your tile. Set your tile saw blade upon the tile. It just needs a quick sharpening that you can do yourself.

Set your blade so that this time it will cut through the whole remaining thickness of the tile. If you push the tile too fast towards the cutter you ll increase your chances of chipping the tile. After you ve done this you can either cut through the whole tile or cut a notch into one end and then cut the whole tile. Mark your tile where you want the notch to be.

This way you will prevent chipping even more. Mark the point where you wish to notch. Do not touch the blade to the tile. Mark the location of the cut with a marker or pencil.

Turn the saw on. Chipping tile when cutting with a saw happens because the blade gets worn. Make sure the tile doesn t touch the blade before doing this. You have to be very patient in cutting tiles whether it is a wet saw or a manual tile cutter.

Set your blade to cut all the way through the tile. Set your tile on the platform with the mark facing your diamond blade. Use a spray bottle to wet the tile with water to reduce dust. Cut a 1 in 2 5 cm line along your mark with the tile face down.

Turn on the saw push the tile slowly through the blade and get the shallow cut done. A great way to avoid chipping on porcelain tiles is to notch the tile before cutting through. I will show you what yo. Fix a piece of masking tape along the mark to make the line easier to follow and help prevent chipping.

A little wobble or slight off centering of the blade to the arbor will create chipping. One way to avoid chipping your porcelain tile is to notch the tile before you cut through it. Turn on your saw. Flip your tile over so the finished side faces the bottom of your saw.

Guide the saw forward until you cut 1 in 2 5 cm in from the edge. Place the tile with the marking facing the blade but do not let them get in touch yet and turn on your saw. Push the tile into the saw blade approximately 1 or 2 inches depending on the size of the tile then back the tile out and turn off the saw. Turn on your saw using the switch on the side of the front of the saw.
