There is also an expanded album that was issued in 2000 comprised of two cds and containing a number of alternate takes ideal for the mingus completest. Tijuana moods comes after two great charles mingus hits like pithecanthropus erectus and the clown although it wasn t released until a few years after being recorded. Tijuana moods is an album by charles mingus originally recorded in 1957 but not released until june 1962. The name charlie mingus appears on the cover of the original album.

Charles mingus bass vocals clarence shaw trumpet jimmy knepper trombone shafi hadi alto and tenor saxophones bill triglia piano dannie richmond drums with frankie dunlop on other percussion ysabel morel castanets vocals and lonnie elder voices. Limited 180gm vinyl lp repressing of this classic jazz release including digital download. It was reissued in 1986 on cd as new tijuana moods with four additional alternate takes. All songs were composed by mingus except flamingo.
